DESCRIPTION: This tutorial shows you how you can make a simple, but still special frame to decorate your photos ... by using PI and different filters.

Remember to save often!

For this tutorial, as for all of them, we are going to make a lot of similar frames/borders, with the same color/fill/pattern - using the same steps over again, so next time I'm only referring to 1 Color (=Foreground color) or 2 Gold (=GoldFillPattern). Just repeat the steps I'm explaining for the first frame/border. (Always expand sides equally, and with the pixels mentioned in front of the color.)

To make it more easy to select a border, right click/All, right click/Border and set the Pixels of the border for the Border width, Direction: Inward, Shape: Box. You can always use the Magic Wand Tool, but this way it's more easy if you use similar colors for the background and the border. (On the assumption that all sides have been expanded equally!)

Open the picture, choose a Foreground color - 74/79/100 (white hand).
Go to Adjust/Expand Canvas/Expand sides equally 1 pixel, Expand: White. Select the border, go to Edit/Fill/ Image (red arrow)/File and find the file (white arrow) with the name - tut_frame_034_GoldFillPattern.  Remember to check the box Tile the image (1). Click OK.
Selection/None.

3 Color + 1 Gold.

Expand: 5 Pixels with a lighter shade of your Foreground color - 92/99/124. Select the border and go to Effect/ Screen Works/PinHole and keep the border selected.
Go to Effect/Bordermania/Frame #2:
5/5/110/130 + Notch Corners.
Deselect.

3 Gold, select the border and go to Effect/Bordermania/ Frame #2: 3/3/110/130 + Notch Corners.
Deselect.

Expand: 22 Color, select the border and go to Effect/ Greg's Factory Output Vol.II/Pool Shadow and use the default settings:
50/50/50/50/50/50/128/128.
Keep the border selected.

Go to Effect/Almathera/A Halo: Black (red arrow)
thickness: 18 / transparency: 55
Click OK and deselect.

1 Gold.

Deselect.

Expand: 27 White, select the border and go to Edit/Fill/ Image/File and find the file you've downloaded from Acadie's Art. Remember to check the box Tile the image.
Go to Photo/Color/Hue&Saturation/Colorize (red arrow) and use these settings (1): 39/-57/-30.
Go to Effect/FM Tile Tools/Blend Emboss and apply the default settings twice.
Go to Effect/Almathera/A Halo: Black + 18/55.
Deselect.

1 Gold + 3 Color.

3 Gold, select the border and go to Effect/Bordermania/ Frame #2: 3/3/110/130 + Notch Corners.
Deselect.

Expand: 32 Color, select the border, go to Effect/MuRa's Seamless (red arrow)/Checks (white arrow) and use these settings (1):
0/0/0/65/192/3/128/0.
Your screenshot might look different, since I'm using Filters Unlimited 2 - but the settings are the same anyway.
Click Apply and keep the border selected.

Go to Effect/FM Tile Tools/Blend Emboss and apply the default settings 4 times.
Go to Effect/Almathera/A Halo and use these settings:
Black + 18/55.
Deselect and Merge All.

Expand: 1 White, right click/All, right click/Border, set the Pixels of the border to 3 (white hand), and the Direction to Inward (red arrow).
Keep the border selected, go to Edit/Fill/Image/File and use the same GoldFillPattern we used for the other golden borders.
Keep the border selected, o to Effect/Bordermania/ Frame #2: 3/3/110/130 + Notch Corners.

That's it! A simple, but still very special frame for any kind of photo ... done with PI and different filters. HAVE FUN!!!
